Periodontal referrals will be handled by Dr Joao Souteiro and you will be kept fully informed of your patient’s treatment with us before they are returned to your very good care.

Dr Joao Souteiro qualified in Dentistry from the University of Porto, Portugal in 2012 and moved to the UK in 2014. He works full-time at Cirencester Dental Practice as a Dentist with a special interest in Implantology and Periodontics.
Joao has gained his Postgraduate Diploma in Periodontics and is now currently enhancing clinical practice by working towards his MSc in Periodontics at the University of Bristol. He has also worked closely with Dr Hatem Algraffee gaining extensive experience in the treatments of periodontal disease.
Periodontology (Periodontics) is the specific aspect of dentistry that studies the supporting structures of the teeth and the study of the diseases and conditions that affect these structures, e.g. gingivitis, gum disease. Joao is trained to assess and treat all conditions that affect the gums and this includes:
- Treatment of swollen and bleeding gums
- Regeneration of lost gum and bone tissue
- Treatment of gum disease around dental implants
- Correction of uneven gum levels
- Cosmetic gum grafts
- Treatment of bad breath
