A denture held in place by four implants
Before treatment, this jaw had no teeth. Four implants were placed and the gum closed over them. After eight weeks of soft tissue healing the implants were uncovered and fitted with locator abutments, small attachments for a denture. Impressions went to the laboratory, and an overdenture was made with matching attachments in its fitting surface, covering only a small part of the palate (the roof of the mouth). A new lower denture was also made.
